What is DevOps?

DevOps Definition

DevOps is a compound word of software development and operations.
DevOps = Software Development + Operations
It refers to a development environment or culture that emphasizes communications, collaboration, and integration between software developers and information technology experts. DevOps is an interdependent response between software development organizations and operation organizations and aims for organizations to quickly develop and distribute software products and services.

PURPOSE

The purpose of DevOps spans the overall distribution pipeline. This includes an improved deployment cycle and may lead to:
  • Shorten the time to market until the product is released.
  • The lower failure rate for the new round.
  • Faster average time to recover (in situations where new releases conflict and other current systems are disabled)
Simple processes are becoming more flexible and programmable faster using the DevOps approach. DevOps aims to maximize the predictability, efficiency, security, and maintenance of the operating process. Automation supports this goal.
